What changes when you convert icons to SVG?

A raster icon is a fixed pixel grid. Icon-to-SVG tracing rebuilds its silhouette and color regions as paths, making fills editable and allowing the geometry to be rendered at different sizes.

Small icons expose every tracing error

A one-pixel wobble or pale antialiasing fringe can become visible geometry. Start from the largest clean copy available, then compare Black and White mode or a limited color count for simple glyphs.

An icon set needs consistent choices

For a batch, use the same color mode and simplification when the icons share a visual system. Bulk edit can apply those changes after every image finishes processing.

SVG does not recover semantic layers

Tracing reconstructs visible shapes. It cannot know which original object was a stroke, text layer, or reusable component, so inspect the paths before adding them to a design system.

Which color mode works for a single-color icon?

Automatic detection can use the monochrome path for one color or very similar colors. You can also select Black and White manually and edit the resulting swatch.

Which images produce the cleanest vector result?

Logos, icons, line art, silhouettes, and flat illustrations with clear edges usually trace most cleanly. Texture, soft shadows, gradients, and noise require more paths.

Does my source image leave the browser?

The vectorization runs locally in your browser. An image is sent only if you explicitly attach it to a feedback form and submit that form.

Can I edit the SVG after conversion?

Yes. You can recolor available swatches, copy the SVG markup, or open the downloaded paths in compatible vector software.
