What does converting a design to SVG preserve?

The converter traces visible shapes and color regions. It can preserve the appearance of clear flat artwork, but it cannot restore hidden layers, fonts, constraints, or edit history from the original design file.

Flattened artwork needs reconstruction

A screenshot or exported raster contains the final pixels only. Tracing estimates boundaries between them and creates new paths, so typography and precise geometric construction may need manual review.

Use case changes the preferred result

A web asset, logo, photo treatment, and cutting design reward different geometry. Choose the intended destination before the automatic comparison begins.

Keep the source you have permission to use

Vectorization changes the file representation, not ownership or licensing. Convert your own work or artwork you are authorized to adapt.

Compare the palette before refining the design

For a flat design in Web or Logo, choose among up to four relevant palettes and then compare the distinct SVG results for that palette. White counts as a paint; transparency does not. Broad grayscale or opacity regions can stay separate instead of being reduced to a binary shape. Single-choice steps are skipped.

Outside fabrication, edit the output swatches or remove a paint after confirmation. Removing a canvas color also crops to the remaining artwork when content cropping is enabled. Use Change choice to revisit the prepared results, and check lettering, holes, and narrow gaps with synchronized wheel zoom.

Does my source image leave the browser?

The vectorization runs locally in your browser. An image is sent only if you explicitly attach it to a feedback form and submit that form.

Can I edit the SVG after conversion?

Yes. You can recolor available swatches, copy the SVG markup, or open the downloaded paths in compatible vector software.
